History/Personality: History

Would you consider your character to be heroic? Why or why not?:

Steve might not be strong, Steve might not be smart, Steve might not be brave, but what Steve is - is heroic. Having started in the series as a minor antagonist, riding high on the fumes of "school's top dog and hottest commodity", he rapidly sheds his jock-baddie vibes and becomes a beloved protector of people, especially the kids of Hawkins. Time and time again, Steve (literally) steps up to bat for others -- he's the one swinging the hardest to keep someone or something down, the one yelling the loudest to serve as a distraction and the last one to leave the scene, making sure everyone is accounted for and protected.

Steve has shown character growth throughout the series, starting out as the typical jerk jock with an infamous affiliation to royalty and ending up as a trusted protector of the Party. He doesn't run away from fights, even if he knows he'll lose them -- shown by the way he returns to the Byers household to join Nancy and Jonathan's fight against a literal monster, knowing nothing about the situation other than that they were scared and needed help; he helps Dustin track his cat-eating pollywog with little protest, and later protects and watches over the gaggle of danger-prone middle schoolers, and by his canon point, he has also thrown himself into fistfights with trained Russian soldiers, and participated in the mall battle against a literal monster.

Powers/Abilities: Abilities

• In Season 4, it's revealed that Steve was also Hawkin's High's swim team captain and a lifeguard for three years. If the high school sport schedule follows a real world example, it's likely that he participated in fall, winter and summer sports throughout his high school career -- swimming (fall), basketball (winter) and possibly baseball (summer), which would support his athleticism and prowess with his preferred weapon: the baseball bat.
• His family is well-known in the community, and wealthy enough to leave their home and son in Hawkins for extended business trips. His mother is "well-respected", but little else is known about them. Though a known (former) party-king, he likely got his social graces from community events his family held or participated in.

Other than that, he's a normal human dude!
